YAGER is looking for VISUAL FX ARTIST [f/m]

Job details: YAGER is an independent developer of computer and video games based in Berlin, Germany. We are specialized in the creation of AAA, multi-platform action experiences, for a global audience. Attention to detail is a hallmark of our development; from refining game play to the point of excellence, to instilling both the stories and the environments with enough depth and detail to set our products apart.
We are an English speaking studio with more than 100 people from 15 different countries. This rich mix of individual skills, backgrounds, and perspectives creates an open-minded and collaborative atmosphere vital to the success of our productions.
VISUAL FX ARTIST [f/m]
Responsibilities
• Create real-time special effects for a Next Gen action game
• Cooperate closely with art, design, audio and development department to deliver first class visual effects that exceed the state of the art
• Research effects technologies and solutions in close collaboration with the engineering department
• Help to set up and maintain the global tools and workflows related to special effects production
Qualifications
• 3+ years production experience in visual effects, post-production and production
• Experience with Unreal Engine
• Excellent understanding of what makes special effects work
• Expert-level skills for particle systems, post processing effects and shaders (specular and normal maps)
• Solid understanding of rigid body collision, soft body, cloth, hair, etc. simulations
• Understanding of game engines (Unreal), tools, pipelines and development processes
• Awareness for the quality requirements of Next-Gen games
• At least basic skills in 3d graphics
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, to meet deadlines and to excel under production conditions
• Good communication skills across multiple disciplines; ability to follow direction and to collaborate productively in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Passionate about videogames
