3ds Max: good way to light a car scene

Post reply

Spade
im modeling a Nissan 350Z and i was doing some test renders, but i cant seem to get the reflectivity looking right. What do you guys recommend when setting up a "car scene"? all i have in the scene right now is a ground plane, the car, 1 skinny light bar, and 1 grey wall. What should i do to get some nice reflections. heres my render: my car scene (http://www.davidfinlay.net/1.jpg) PS: someone told me there is a tut out there somewhere that shows you a good way to light a good scene for cars. Anyone ever heard of it?

ide say setting the scene at 4pm, when the sun is at a good angle so theirs long shadows that can reach out to buildings and scenery. seeing as your site is down i cant look at your scene and add anything else other than what i just sayd.
