| If i want to import a model in a .max file. do i have to export that .max file into a .3ds and then import it? or is there a better way to do this? |

| 3ds is usually what people do.. |

| If you are speaking of the same version of 3ds max. A good idea will be to merge the max scene that contains the model you need and select only the model for merging. |
