3ds Max: V-ray rendering probl. - black artfacts

Post reply

I am rendering an animated scene with Vray using GI with irradiance map. I am using mutiframe incremental and after few frames of render I get small black sharp areas popping here and there in the image. If I re-render problematic frame alone the problem is gone. Well. I could use single frame for irradiance (doing a test ath the moment) but it is slower and in earlier test I got lots of flickering. My colleague said it is a problem with some material types in max. But there is nothing fancy in my scene, some of problem areas have only standard material (not vrayMtl) with falloff in diffuse. If you have any idea how to get rid of the problem or what is causing it please reply, heikki
