| subject: Animation and Visual Effects Lecturer , Charles Sturt University Charles Sturt University is looking for Animation and Visual Effects Lecturer Starting Date: Full Time , duration - permanent Job details: Located in the School of Visual and Performing Arts, the successful applicant will teach in the proposed revised course, BA (Animation and Visual Effects), and may be required to teach multimedia electives in related courses such as graphic design, photography and television production. Teaching may be at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, particularly in on-campus mode. Requirements: Essential An appropriate tertiary qualification (e.g., animation, fine arts, computer art, multimedia design, new media, visual communications). Knowledge of animation history, theory and practices as well as industry experience with digital visual effects. Teaching experience at tertiary level. Professional currency and strong industry links. Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Expertise with specific software applications including at least three of the following: Maya; 3ds max; After Effects; Shake; Combustion; Flash; Director; Photoshop and familiarity with both Macintosh and Windows operating systems. A broad understanding of design and authoring processes including digital video and audio, internet and interactive multimedia, photomedia, and other forms of digital content creation. Desirable A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field. Research capability and strong professional and creative career history. Extensive experience with Autodesk, Adobe, Avid industry standard software. Familiarity with programming, digital asset management and production pipelines. Demonstrated commitment to collaborative teaching across related disciplines, e.g., graphic design, multimedia, television production, design for stage and screen, acting, jewellery, fine art.
