| subject: Animation Supervisor , Digital Pictures Iloura Digital Pictures Iloura is looking for Animation Supervisor Starting Date: September 2006 , duration - 60-70 weeks Job details: Position required: Animation Supervisor Based in Melbourne, Australia, Digital Pictures Iloura is seeking an Animation Supervisor/Character Animator to work on the animated childrens series, Animalia. Originally written and illustrated by Graeme Base, the book is being made into 40 x half hour high end CG animated episodes with Iloura undertaking animation only on 20 of the episodes. This is a long term project with contracts available for approximately 60 V 70 weeks between September 2006 and November 2007. Iloura will be supplied with rigged models and 3D Layout/Pre-visualization which will dictate lens information, camera placement, shot timing, rough character movement and action. Iloura will not be undertaking any modeling, vfx animation, lighting, texturing, rendering or compositing. This is character animation only. Required Skills: The Animation Supervisor will work under the director and/or the art director. The duties of the animation supervisor will be both technical and supervisory, comprising the following responsibilities: To assess the work of prospective animation candidates. To assist with animation if the schedule permits. To oversee, manage and provide leadership and encouragement to the animation team. To distribute the work flow according to team strengths and ability in conference with the Producer. To trouble shoot, QC and support each member of the team and their work. To maximize professionalism and productivity of team To request animation retakes when required The animation supervisor will ensure that the team design and assemble shots according to the 3D Layout/Pre-visualization and the Directors vision. The animation supervisor will ensure the consistency and quality of animation and character performance across all shots throughout every Episode. To work in collaboration with the Producer to ensure shot delivery remains on schedule. Requirements: Applicants must be proficient in Maya or able to efficiently translate an equal skill set in a comparable software package to Maya. They must demonstrate a proficiency in working with realistic characters including humans, birds, reptiles, quadrupeds and a variety of other models. The Animation Supervisor must have prior experience in this role and must be able to manage large group effectively to deliver quality animation within tight production deadlines. Previous involvement in episodic television work is a strong advantage. Applicants should be prepared to relocate to Melbourne by the beginning of September 2006 and be committed to the full term of the project which wraps in November 2007.
