| subject: Character TD (rigging) Supervisor , IDT Entertainment IDT Entertainment is looking for Character TD (rigging) Supervisor Starting Date: ASAP Job details: IDT Entertainment is an up and coming animation studio. We are seeking talented, hardworking individuals to come join the IDTE family. With studios located in the USA, Canada and Israel, we give you the opportunity to explore different avenues and take creativity to a whole new level. So step out of the box and come to a true artist driven studio. Provides input during design/development stage. Collaborates with Supervising Animator(s) to define rig requirements Responsible for the creative needs, technical specification, construction, modification and maintenance of all 3D character rigs used in a picture Responsible for creating the look of the characters as designed by the Director(s), VFX Supervisor, and Production Designer(s) within budget parameters defined by the show Collaborates with other departments to ensure successful solutions to cross-department challenges and flags VFX Supervisor as needed Enforces directory structure, naming conventions and versioning for all riggers and rigs. Work with CG Supervisor as needed on these issues. Responsible for understanding and communicating implications to other departments during decision-making process Highlights cost implications of requests or changes and provide alternative solutions when appropriate Requirements: Leadership Responsibilities Supervise the Character TDs (Riggers). Perform rounds with character TDs: critique their work and assist in problem-solving Work with Art Director and Animation Supervisor(s) in determining when rigs are ready for Animation produciton. Liaison with Department Manager and Production Management in determining and meeting production quotas and goals. Participate in employee reviews. Deliver reviews with production management. Help manage career and skillset growth within department. Provide recommendations for promotions. Work with management in the staffing of department. Assist in recruiting efforts for department. Ensure that new hires have necessary skillset and are provided with any additional training specific to the show.
