| subject: Lead 3D Artist , Blue Omega Entertainment Blue Omega Entertainment is looking for Lead 3D Artist duration - Indefinite Job details: Blue Omega is a team of creative professionals dedicated to amazing, unique, and entertaining experiences that leave people wanting more. Focused on original IP and developing only for the X360 and PS3, our team develops the core game concepts/prototype and then teams up with the best companies in the business to make those concepts a reality. Blue Omega is a different kind of studio looking for a different kind of individual who is talented, energetic and wants to break new ground. We are actively seeking a Lead Animator who is able to produce quality animation and has the ability to collaborate with other dedicated developers. We are looking for someone with passion, and the skills to back it up, whether new to the game industry, or a veteran with years in the trenches. Responsibilities: As the Lead 3D Artist at Blue Omega you would be responsible for driving and maintaining the uniqueness and consistency of a visual style that accentuates the mood and energy of the game. You would be involved with all aspects of asset development from critique and approval of external artists' work to researching new art methodologies and creating finished keystone assets to be used in the game. Requirements: • Show a strong aptitude for productively analyzing, and discussing ideas in a wide variety of visual aesthetics (2D images, 3D objects, characters, environments, animation, etc?) • Has the ability to take direction, work independently, collaborate as part of a team, or provide direction to other artists though comprehensive critiques. • Can collaborate with other team members to reach practical design compromises and adjustments in asset production or visual style that ensure that the project is a viable and successful. • Must be able to review and discuss designs and assets at various stages of completion. • Must have solid conceptual and design skills. • Must have an understanding of the differences between creation of art in traditional mediums and interactive, as well as the impact that art assets have on game environments, or player perception. • Can research and answer technical questions from other artists with respect to visual reference, techniques, or systems being used. • Strong demonstrable skills and proficiency in Photoshop and 3D Studio Max with a focus on the creation of low-poly models and accompanying normal maps for use in real-time game environments. • Must have experience equivalent to 2 years in the visual communications industry and a BFA from an accredited art/design school. • Must be passionate about film and video games • Must be willing to relocate if currently living outside of Baltimore, MD or Washington DC area. • Current authorization to work in USA Preferred: • Has experience with Unreal Engine • Has a working knowledge of Z-Brush This is a full time (in-house), salaried position with discretionary bonuses and a full benefits package.
