| subject: Level Designer , JGI Entertainment JGI Entertainment is looking for Level Designer duration - Full Time Job details: Level Designer You are a talented, creative, team-oriented, designer who will work with the lead designer to conceptualize, layout, script and maintain the content for compelling levels in an exciting new 3rd person action/adventure title. Responsibilities: Work closely with lead designer on all design aspects pertaining to quality, planning, scheduling, and execution of level assignments Design and build exciting and imaginative levels based upon existing level design documents Flesh out and expand upon game play scenarios and encounters contained within assigned level design documents Research and gather reference material for level assignments Create overhead maps and refine game flow for assigned levels Gather, specify, manage, and communicate asset, script and code requirements for assigned levels Write and insert in-game, level specific dialog and other sound cues Act as the central hub for all assigned levels; working closely with artists and scripters to drive the level from its early stages to its completion Tune, balance, refine and revise assigned levels Collaborate with the design team to create and refine innovative ideas for all aspects of design, production and design practices Requirements: Passion for making and playing games Ability to work well within a team environment Ability to learn new tools and asset pipelines Ability to accept direction, and work well under pressure Adaptability Must be proactive Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to design levels from a design document or from scratch Ability to deliver quality levels within time constraints, and to communicate progress with the lead designer Demonstrable experience building 3d gaming levels Technical aptitude and understanding of tools, techniques and processes of level design on console A realistic understanding of what can be accomplished within the time allotted for a given assignment, and ability to maintain an appropriate scope Professional full time industry experience as a designer Minimum credit of at least one major title within the capacity of level design. Preference To Applicants With: Experience building levels that fully utilize the three dimensional space Playable level portfolio Working knowledge of 3D Studio MAX Working knowledge of 2D art tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator Working knowledge of productivity tools such as Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Excel Experience scripting AI-driven entities or special events Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States Contact info: 11500 W.
