| subject: Level Designer , Pronto Games Pronto Games is looking for Level Designer duration - Full Time Job details: Level Designer The Level Designer's primary responsibility is to create 2D and 3D levels based on the Game Design Doc (GDD). The Level Designer should be highly motivated and is expected to drive the development and execution of his or her assigned levels from start to finish. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are a must. The Level Designer reports directly to the Lead Designer Responsibilities: Brainstorm & design meetings 2D and 3D level building, including planning maps Scripting of both AI behavior and events Milestone integration - especially proof-of-concept and first playable Work closely with project team members to execute design, and work through design revisions as needed Gameplay tuning and revisions based on QA and Focus testing. Write concise, complete design descriptions Required: Experience in building levels in a 2D and/or 3D game world Passionate about many different types of games and gameplay Ability to accept direction and to work closely with other designers, artists, engineers and QA Knowledge of MS Office and 2D and 3D art packages Proactive in problem solving with other team members Have a strong sense of artistic design and gameplay Provide time estimates for work and have strong time management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Good organizational and planning skills Positive and professional attitude Must be able to verify legal eligibility to work in the USA Desired: Familiarity with DTP, 2D tile map editing, 3D level editing packages Knowledge of the fundamentals of architecture, landscaping or graphic design is helpful Fundamental programming skills Good presentation skills Experience working with a game editor suite (Unreal, Renderware, etc.) Experience: 1 to 3 years in a game development environment Completed at least one title in a design role from concept through final Location: Emeryville, CA, United States Contact info: http://www.prontogames.com E-mail: jobs@prontogames.com |
