| subject: Level Designer , Idol Minds, LLC Idol Minds, LLC is looking for Level Designer duration - Full Time Job details: Level Designer Idol Minds is seeking an experienced level designer to conceptualize, document, implement, balance and fine tune the play experience for a PS3 title currently under development. This position will collaborate with the lead designer, level artists, the gameplay programmers and other team members, so strong communication and teamwork skills are highly valued. Responsibilities: Create and document basic and advanced game systems Create rough level layouts in Maya that demonstrate the basic elements of fun gameplay while adhering to the games vision Create new game modes and challenges, explain those concepts in complete detail, work with lead designer, level artists and programming staff to implement, and ensure that the design vision adapts to and survives the development process. Create and implement all aspects of gameplay levels, encounters and experiences Contribute substantially and decisively to the evolution of the game design from initial documentation through testing Aggressively prototype and iterate core game mechanics Required Skills: An understanding of major elements of game design including, system design, level design, character interaction, character mechanics, AI, story, interface, balance and difficulty Excellent creativity and demonstrated ability to generate innovative concepts, mechanics and ideas Good creative and technical writing ability Good verbal communication skills Capable of taking direction but also providing critique Demonstrable success in creating compelling and fun gameplay, scenarios and encounters Related technical skills, such as some background in use of game editors, scripting and 3D tools (Maya or Max) Required Experience: Experience in a level design capacity on at least 1 project shipped for current or next-generation consoles 2+ years of game design experience Bonuses: Passionate about games and game development Next-generation development experience Online design experience (for consoles) Experience building 3D levels Understanding of Maya College degree Location: Louisville, Colorado, United States Contact info: 363 Centennial Parkway, Suite 200 Louisville, Colorado 80027 http://www.idolminds.com Phone: 303-786-8950 x 104 Fax: 303-786-9164 E-mail: job@idolminds.com |
