Job Responsibilities: Lead the companys technical department and act as liaison between management and the technical department Create network strategy and technical direction for the companys systems Direct planning and purchasing of software and hardware Develop best practices and procedures for company IT operations Requirements: Minimum 5 years Multimedia/film industry experience Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of training users in complex topics and interacting positively with users 5 or more years of experience as a systems administrator in a heterogeneous environment Independent problem-solving, self-directed personality Experience in Win2K, XP, Server 2000/2003, Linux, Irix, OSX, AD, (Exchange Server a plus) Solid understanding of devices and what device drivers do and filesystem concepts (inode, clustering, logical volumes) Networking - layer 3, dhcp, netboot, NFS, NIS, CIFS, DNS, NIS, simple understanding of routing Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (e.g., Python, shell) Experience with hard and soft RAID solutions, various file systems and volume managers, experience designing distributed file system architectures (NFS, AFS, DFS, etc) Knowledge of backup/archive best practices All interested applicants should email their resumes to recruiting@mrxfx.com with the subject reading Senior Systems Administrator".
