LAIKA, Inc. is looking for Rotoscope/Paint Artist, Junior Job details: LAIKA is seeking a both Senior and Junior Rotoscope/Paint Artist’s for its current production, Coraline. The Rotoscope/Paint artist is responsible for creating matte elements for use in compositing as well as for rig and dust removals. In many cases, they will be finaling their own shots, not just creating elements. Must have a fine eye for detail. Ability to conceptualize matting needs and spot problem areas in plates. Must have good problem-solving abilities, good at finding technical solutions to get the best possible result for the least effort and cost. Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Responsible for creating matte elements and rotosplines. - Responsible for dust, dirt, wire and rig removal. - Responsible for complex paint cleanup - Responsible for finaling shots. - Able to work efficiently and independently. Minimum Qualifications - For Senior Role = 3 + years Digital Compositing experience, preferably on feature films. - For Junior Role = 1 ½ to 2 + years Digital Compositing experience, preferably on feature films. - Experience in Shake - Experience in Photoshop - An eye for composition, detail, light, color. - Stereoscopic experience desired - Experience in Maya preferred but not required Job Conditions This position works under normal office conditions.
