| subject: Scripter , Mainframe Entertainment Inc. Mainframe Entertainment Inc. is looking for Scripter Job details: Responsibilities Include: - Developing and maintaining leading-edge proprietary tools/shaders/plugins/scripts. - Primary or secondary responsibilities for the technical requirements of specific productions - Assisting in the development of next generation production pipeline. - Creating and maintaining technical effects, as required - Assisting in the development of television/direct-to-video, and film pipelines - Actively participate in the growth of the Production Technology Department - Providing training/tutorials to production staff - Acquiring and maintaining up-to-date knowledge in the relevant fields - Representing the technical achievements and capabilities of Rainmaker Animation. Duties Include: - Designing, developing, and maintaining proprietary scripts used in production. - Developing complex Graphical User Interfaces. - Overseeing all of the technical requirements of a specific production; work with producers, directors, animation and modeling supervisors to determine these needs, either alone or under the guidance of the Senior TD - Collaborating with software developers in fulfilling the needs of current and future productions - Interacting with the IT Department with respect to operating, file, and network systems? issues - Providing additional technical support and training to production teams, as needed - Providing web developers with the appropriate internal support pages (documentation, tutorials). ** This position involves a lot of documentation work and basic HTML programming. - Evaluating and recommending relevant external shaders/plugins/scripts - Interacting with commercial vendors with respect to technical issues affecting proprietary shaders, etc - Attending regular production and department meetings - Assisting in the development of pipelines for television, direct-to-video, and film - Assisting the Manager of Production Technology in strategic planning - Participating, when applicable, in technical support/director candidates? interviews - Maintaining contacts with academia/industry to keep current on new research and competitor developments - Reading relevant journal/conference/technical articles - Attending industry conferences and seminars - Developing and presenting lectures/papers for academia/industry as applicable Qualifications: - Undergraduate degree or a diploma in Computing Science, or related disciplines an asset. - 2+ years production experience - Thorough knowledge of MEL. - Linux scripting experience a requirement. - Excellent knowledge of Rigging and Dynamics. - Experience developing complex user interfaces.. - Thorough knowledge of digital 3D animation and special effects. - Thorough knowledge of CG packages: Maya,XSI/Houdini/Shake/ etc. - Good knowledge of Python/HTML/VBScript - Houdini script knowledge is an asset. - Knowledge of Mental Ray is an asset. - Excellent problem solving and communication skills Thank you in advance for your application!
