Softimage Xsi: Interoperability.

Post reply

Have any of you tested Softimage XSI's ability to exchange AAF information with high-end compositing systems? I realise that Softimage and DS would be a proverbial match made in heaven, but how well would that AAF file carry over into, say, Discreet's Smoke? Would my FX Tree layers stay intact? I have yet to fully realise the full potential of the AAF. Someone please fill me in. On a somewhat related note, I've almost convinced my boss to switch our post house over to Softimage XSI. Considering the fact that they have been with Lightwave since beta, I think this is pretty impressive. The only thing holding him back is the fact that we need multiple licenses for each of our render machines. Is there any way around this? I've had trouble finding a straight answer concerning the matter. Thanks. Cody
