| subject: Technical Director , Backbone Entertainment Backbone Entertainment is looking for Technical Director duration - Full Time Job details: Technical Director Job Responsibilities: Responsible for all technical processes and technology within the studio Providing strategic planning and direction Working with other departments in the design, planning and execution of AAA multi-platform video games, from concept to GMC Providing detailed, insightful direction to programmers as to how to approach the creation of new technology Developing an in-depth knowledge of engine and technologies available within the studio and all sister studios Researching the core functionality of console hardware Participating and feedback on programmer phone and office interviews Participating in press and marketing events, road-shows and exhibitions Interacting with outside software vendors, middleware providers, and console support groups Preparing and executing technical due diligence reviews for clients Developing technical design specification, implementation and test plans Contributing innovative ideas towards all aspects of game technology, production, and design Hands-on management, direction and mentoring of a diverse team of programmers Providing accurate schedules and time estimates for work Creating staffing profiles and hiring recommendations for the department Meeting production schedules and deadlines Performing technical staff performance reviews, and department efficiency Pro-actively recognizing problems and areas of improvement, and developing solution strategies Job Requirements: Knowledgeable in overall game development life-cycle, including significant milestone planning/execution and product submission processes. 7+ years experience in advanced C++/OOP architecture design and implementation. 4+ years experience in console programming. Experience in leading team of programmers including hiring, reviewing, project management and mentoring. Experience and high level of understanding in the field of game engine and tools architecture and good software engineering practices. Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering or equivalent experience Excellent analytical and communication skills. Self-motivated and passionate about video games. Strong leader and mentor.
