| subject: User Interface Artist , Backbone Entertainment Backbone Entertainment is looking for User Interface Artist duration - Indefinite Job details: A division of Foundation 9 Entertainment, the largest independent game developer in North America, Backbone Entertainment specializes in developing original and licensed IP for all gaming platforms and multiple media. The studios that make up Backbone Entertainment have been in existence since 1992, when the company was previously called Digital Eclipse. Combined, Backbone's two studios have shipped more than 100 titles, including the popular original franchise, Death, Jr. Summary: Work closely with the project team to design, create, and implement the UI, from design to completion. Duties and Responsibilities - Conceptualize, design and generate ideas for the UI. - Mock-up screens and create Flash prototypes to demonstrate design concepts. - Create and design final 2D art as required for the project. - Learn proprietary tools. - Work closely with the team to design, create and implement the UI. - Work on other art tasks as assigned. Skills and Qualifications - A minimum of two years industry or equivalent work experience - Formal art/design background required - A capacity to produce finished art of high quality - Demonstrate strong understanding of design principles - Versatile working with different art styles - Strong illustration and layout skills - Experience in user interface design for video games, or a related field (e.g. web design) - Ability to work effectively with minimal levels of guidance - Good written and verbal communication skills - Must be comfortable taking direction and working in a team environment - Positive attitude & solution-oriented Applicants must show samples of their work to be considered.
