| subject: VFX Editor , LAIKA, Inc. LAIKA, Inc. is looking for VFX Editor Job details: LAIKA/entertainment is seeking a VFX Editor for its current production, Coraline. The VFX Editor edits, manages and documents the turnover of shots from editorial to the Visual Effects Group. It requires a very pro-active person who is able to think from the filmmakers' point of view as well as from the perspective of the visual effects artist. Principal Duties and Responsibilities · Manage sequence and shot turnover to VFX, documenting in detail the notes from editors and director about VFX work required for each shot. · Provide plates and other support for VFX element shoot crew to use for line-up on set. · Make sure cut sequences are available for review for artists as well as supervisors and director. · Line-up and check of VFX elements shot on stage. · Host any necessary VFX editorial review for VFX supervisors as well as editors and director. · Maintain database of shot turnover sheets as well as finals sheets, to be used as documentation for final conform. · Cut in VFX works in progress and finals into master cut sequences, confirm line-up, timing, and that the work matches what was requested in shot turnover sheets. · Manage turnover and delivery of any VFX elements and shots to be completed by outside VFX vendors, · Provide support to digital artists. Minimum Qualifications - 3+ years VFX editing experience on medium-large budget feature films - Extensive experience on the Avid and with management of visual/digital data - Familiar with Filemaker, Word, Excel, E-mail and other productivity software tools - Demonstrated management skills Job Conditions This position works under normal office conditions and is scheduled to work based on a 50-hour work week.
