Job details: Lead Artist General Job Summary:
Lead a team of character artists to create stunning characters for next-gen game titles.
Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist in setting and maintaining visual standards for all gameplay characters. Work closely with art director and TAD to establish look and feel. Maintain milestones and production quality.
Qualifications/Requirements:
3+ years minimum industry experience.
Have had shipped at least 1 title on current-gen platforms.
Requires knowledge of character modeling, rigging, weighting and 3D animation.
Proficient in Maya, Photoshop and other related software.
Breadth of artistic styles.
Post secondary diploma in 3D and/or fine arts or equivalent.
Excellent sense of proportions, textures, and shaders.
Strong understanding of Maya and other related
3D software packages.
Strong sense of particle effects.
Ability to work within a specific style set by art director.
Ability to quickly understand in-house tools and provide feedback on improving pipelines and tool sets.
Technical Skills/Expertise:
Maya (preferred) or similar 3D Graphics Software package
Photoshop
Critical Soft-Skill Requirements
Teamwork
Organization
Communication
Bonus Skills:
2D illustration experience
Set design experience
Graphic design experience
Art history knowledge / education
Cinematic experience
2D animation experience
FX and particle animations
