How do I make dynamic simulations with hard objects collide with each other?
Thank you.

1. Select an object (animated or not) and apply rigid body as either active or passive by choosing Create > Rigid Body > Active Rigid Body or Passive Rigid Body from the Simulate toolbar (see Creating Rigid Bodies).
2. Do either of the following to make the rigid body move: - If the rigid body is not animated, apply a force to the current environment. Only active rigid bodies are affected by forces (see Applying Forces to Rigid Bodies). or - If an object is animated, you don’t need a force to make it move: just make sure to use the object’s animation as its initial state for the simulation (see Setting a Rigid Body’s Initial State). 3. Have two or more rigid bodies collide (make sure that their geometries intersect at any point in the simulation other than at the first frame). You can set the rigid bodies’ collision properties in their Rigid Body Properties editors (see Creating Collisions with Rigid Bodies). Optionally, you can also create constraints between two or more rigid bodies (see Constraining Rigid Bodies). 4. Set up the simulation playback in the current environment’s Simulation Time Controls property editor (see Setting Up the Simulation’s Frame Range). This includes the start frame and duration, playback mode, and whether or not to cache the simulation to a source. 5. Play back the simulation by clicking the play icon in the playback controls or moving the cursor in the timeline. |
