Job details: Environment Artist Responsibilities
Create realistic in-game environments based on concept illustrations and/or reference images
Work within established visual and technical guidelines, in accordance with a game design document
Export art assets into Unreal Editor for modular re-assembly, troubleshooting technical issues where necessary
Research appropriate reference images and create new concept art when required
Assist in developing a realistic task list and schedule for all art deliverables
Work with environment team members to develop and enhance the art asset base
Train junior artists as needed to heighten team productivity and quality
Provide innovative solutions to artistic and technical hurdles
Requirements
4 or more years of relevant game industry experience with credits on 2 or more shipped titles
Exceptional 3DS Max modeling, mapping and lighting skills
Excellent 2D Photoshop texturing skills
Well-developed sense of form, composition, color theory and lighting fundamentals
Outstanding drawing skills and conceptual art ability
Proven ability to model in an optimized fashion, while balancing factors of quality and detail
Extensive knowledge of graphics production software and current developer art pipeline methodologies
Strong grasp of technical art restrictions and visual limitations of current platforms
Communicate effectively one-on-one, and within group settings as part of a team
Open to critical analysis of art deliverables and able to revise artwork where necessary
Professional time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
A desire to work within a wide variety of genres and artistic styles
Passion for video games
