Datascope Recruitment is looking for Technical Artist
Starting Date: Immediately , duration - Permenant
Job details: Our client is a leading developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software for all major video game systems with offices all over the world.
They are looking for an extremely well rounded technical artist to assist in driving core technology for next generation games. In this challenging role, the individual will work with the Core Technology team members to analyze, design, implement, document, and maintain technology to be utilized by studios across the world. Working with studio and team Art Directors, this person will help steer shared art efforts across the entire company. The individual must be a strong team player, have excellent documentation and communication skills, focus on customer satisfaction, and have a passion for developing the best game art in the business.
Requirements: AA/BFA preferred; or a portfolio that demonstrates an industry standard level of art. (High school diploma or GED required.)
Minimum of 5 years of professional relevant experience, at least 3 of which is in developing games
Expert level in at least one 3d content creation application (Max or Maya preferred) with a working familiarity with others.
Familiarity with game design and programming and the ability to communicate and coordinate with either
Excellent documentation and communication skills
Ability for training/mentoring artists and developing training curriculum
Knowledge of NextGen art practices
Adept at problem solving and bug tracking
Superior organizational skills
Willingness to travel (~5 - 10%)
Recommended Skills
Ability to drive initiatives locally & remotely
Experience with all areas of game art production (characters, environments, FX etc.)
History of training/mentoring artists and developing training curriculum
Experience with scripting languages for 3D modeling & animation pkgs
Experience with Unreal 2-3
Familiar with bug tracking system such as TestTrack Pro, Problem Tracker or Bugzilla
Familiar with resource management software such as Perforce, Alienbrain or SourceSafe
