Factor 5 is looking for User Interface (UI) Artist
duration - Full Time
Job details: User Interface (UI) Artist Factor 5 is looking for a User Interface Graphics designer to work closely with the game designer and art lead to design and execute a User Interface vision/strategy which supports game design goals and enhances the player emersion experience. Work within the established technical specifications and process to analyze and design the layout and architecture for an intuitive and user friendly experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Accountable for designing, prototyping, creating, and implementing all user/graphic interface design components on assigned project.
Create and maintain the look and feel of game UI/HUD-
o Work with the Art Director to establish the vision of the UI/HUD by pushing to achieve the highest quality possible within the technical limitations.
Design and implementation of the following User Interface components:
o Front End menus and screens
o Ingame HUD (heads up display) elements
o Mini-games
Proactively problem solves technical and design issues related to User Interface Design
Maintains a strong knowledge of innovative game production technologies and the capabilities/limitations of these technologies as they relate to project goals and Interface design.
Ensures consistency with overall art style while still achieving the most efficient UI
Secondary Responsibilities
Meets project deadlines / milestones, as set by project leads, and the production department
Be able to conceptualize, present and execute ideas within a tight schedule.
Actively participate in technical and artistic problem solving.
Job Requirements
Minimum of 2-3 titles and/or 2-3 years of professional or related educational experience working as an interface designer in computer gaming or a related field.
PC or console game experience, relevant undergraduate degree and/or equivalent experience preferred.
A portfolio demonstrating outstanding illustration, layout and graphic design skills.
Basic scripting experience
Should have experience in one or more of the following:
o Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash & After Effects
Extensive knowledge of games in all genres across all platforms.
Demonstrated ability to work self-directed when necessary.
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be receptive to art and design direction and perform well within a collaborative team environment in order to create unique design solutions
