Monolith Productions is looking for SENIOR ARTIST, WORLD (PC TITLE)
duration - Full Time
Job details: SENIOR ARTIST, WORLD (PC TITLE) _Responsibilities
Work closely with other artists and level designers to create textures and architectural elements for 3D environments.
Work with Monolith's level editor (WorldEdit) to assist level designers in creating fully immersive 3D environments. Note: Employees will be trained on-site on how to use the LithTech level editor. Anyone who has experience with a high-end 3D package (e.g. Maya, 3D Studio Max, etc.) should be fully capable of learning how to use WorldEdit within 2 weeks.
Work extensively with 3DS Max and/or Maya.
_Qualifications
2-year 2D/3D art degree, architecture degree, or equivalent preferred.
Strong 2D drawing and digital painting skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and with deadlines.
Strong interest in computer games.
Must be familiar with one or more types of 3D software (Maya, 3D Studio Max, Lightwave, SoftImage, etc.). 3D Max experience and strong 3D modeling skills a plus.
The ability to model Game resolution objects and Detail resolution objects for Next Generation Games
Next generation console experience a plus
_Items to Include in Portfolio Submissions
Images of 3D objects and/or environments. Fully realized environments cover the full spectrum of skills we are looking for: geometry, textures, and lighting. It is also useful to include information about the scenes like the number of polygons and how long it took from design to implementation.
2D textures not applied to the geometry. Both digital painting and photo manipulation are skills valued in our prospective artists.
Traditional art: life drawings, concept sketches, paintings, sculpture, etc.
Any custom game levels with accompanied texture packs for any mainstream game that demonstrate world building skills for real-time 3D as stated above.
