Leading Youth Entertainment Company is looking for Director of Technology

Job details: Director of Technology Our Director of Technology will:
- Lead a team of 5 to 7 creative, production and technical web professionals
- Support online ad sales initiatives on Company's various websites
- Manage day-to-day operations of appropriate websites and online functions
- Manage online relationships with Company's business units and distribution partners.
- Determine the schedule for updates to Company websites and delegate the corresponding responsibilities
- Dictate the schedule and vendor selection for all upcoming web site launches
- Provide creative and editorial direction on all projects as necessary
- Develop and implement departmental standard procedures
- Oversee Company web infrastructure (hosting, DNS, rich media delivery, etc.)
- Ensure regulatory compliance of Company websites and online services
- Advise Company's business units of online initiatives
- Assist SrVP in the planning and management of the department budget.
Job requirements are:
- At least 6 years' experience managing general web production responsibilities with high level of proficiency in both front-end and back-end technologies
- Ability and willingness to be hands-on and to communicate about technical matters in layman's terms
- Possess strong understanding of user experience and age-related industry standards
- Ability to be detail-oriented yet think strategically
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding organization skills
- Keen knowledge and proven track record in the software development process, including development, testing and deployment. Needs to be able to create both large and small websites with a mass market/consumer appeal and also possess an awareness of the unique aspects of the MMOG industry and have the ability to bridge the design gap between these elements,
- Proven ability to manage web artists and developers as well as external vendors, contractors and partners
- Experience developing, communicating and enforcing website style guides, web analytics, data warehouses and SEO
- Experience at a web studio or in entertainment-based digital environment preferred but not required.
- Skilled in HTML, XHTML, JS, Flash, DOM, CSS, Apache, Java, PHP, SQL and streaming media technologies.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project.
- Basic understanding of servers, middleware, databases and multimedia applications.
