Electronic Arts is looking for Technical Director
duration - Full Time
Job details: Technical Director EA is looking for a technical director for SPORE. A technical director (TD) is a combination auditor, facilitator, and engineer. A TD has been around the block in the games industry, with experience as Lead Engineer on a multi-platform product. They also look outside the team to find useful technology within and outside EA that can help make their project better. The TD also works with the Director of Development to recruit, retain, and grow an amazing team of engineers.
Responsibilities:
Driving engineers towards excellence via influencing, mentoring, and enthusiasm.
Ensuring the team is always working to a holistic, well-articulated systems architecture and game design.
Ensuring the technical environment and processes are of highest efficiency for team members.
Working closely with senior/lead engineers to ensure high communications and consistency.
Evaluating engineering project milestones and overall progress.
Evaluating technical project risks and possible solutions.
Identifying technical problems that need to be solved, and working with engineers and technical artists to solve them. Becomes hands-on when appropriate.
Bringing in the best-of-EA technical practices and solutions to the team.
Maintaining engineering skill by spending time programming and code reviewing.
Requirements:
Be a team player, exhibiting unflagging energy and focus.
Posses excellent oral and written communication skills.
Have minimum of 8 years of game development experience.
