LucasArts is looking for Sr & Staff Concept Artist
Job details: Job Purpose:
Produce inspiring Artwork under the direction of the Lead Artist, which defines the design and aesthetic for various project elements, including: concept drawings, color scripts, character designs, backgrounds, storyboards and texture art.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Project Leads to develop concept artwork that defines the overall look and art style for the game.
Work with Lead artist and Lead Animator to design specific game elements, such as: characters, backgrounds and color scripts.
Work with Project Director and Lead Artist to produce storyboards, which enhance the games story by visually punctuating key story points.
Create outstanding texture art for various elements of the game.
Problem solve design issues as they apply to any aspect of concept art.
Meet project deadlines / milestones, as set by project leads, and the production department.
Actively Participate in concept art and project meetings.
Excel as a team player, striving to maximize team / department performance.
Perform special projects as assigned.
Requirements: Qualifications:
A portfolio demonstrating outstanding drawing and fine art skills, including:
Figure drawing
Illustration
Painting
Sculpting
Minimum of one to two years of professional experience in gaming or related field.
BFA strongly preferred.
Ability to adapt stylistically to different design genres.
Strong Photoshop / Illustrator skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of self-direction.
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience creating texture maps.
Must be receptive to art direction and perform well within a collaborative team environment.
Must be responsive to deadlines and work well under pressure.
Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
