Interactive Selection is looking for Senior Animator
Starting Date: ASAP , duration - perm

Job details: My client is a Scottish based games developer currently working on a highly amibitious next gen project.

They are now looking for a Senior Animator.

Responsibilities:
Ability to consistently create high quality animation primarily for characters, but also for weapons and props
Ability to achieve realistic animation style using both keyframe animation and motion capture data
Taking direction from the Lead Animator to produce animation that is visually and functionally consistent with the rest of the game visuals
Work with the Lead Animator to assist in pre-production tasks V such as the creation of character motion trees and animation set lists
Work with other members of the team to provide balanced solutions to both technical and aesthetic related issues.
Maintains a strong knowledge of innovative game production technologies and techniques
Should provide technical and artistic leadership to the development of the product
Mentor and lead by example less experienced artists, providing them with support, guidance and instruction in areas that contribute towards their artistic and professional growth
Will assist Lead Animator to lead the animation team V which will involve a degree of management responsibility

Experience required:
At least 4 years experience in the industry (preferred, but slightly less experience will be acceptable)
At least 1 year experience as a Senior Artist
At least 1 published games under belt
Must have good experience using 3DS Max and Character Studio (Other equivalent 3D apps also acceptable)

Education preferred:
Degree or diploma from Art College in either Animation or related course (Desirable but not a must)

Skills required:
Must have a strong portfolio demonstrating high quality character animation V displaying realism and personality
Should have a strong understanding of classic animation fundamentals and principles
Knowledge and experience of rigging and skinning characters a definite bonus
Must be excellent problem solver with a very good understanding of the latest game processes and art techniques
Must be able to adapt to the style, techniques, continuity and quality of artwork as set by the Lead Artist
Must be willing to take art direction well
Must be organised and capable of producing work to tight production schedules
Should be pro-active in the solving of art-related problems for the game
