Job details: Senior Technical Artist Concrete Games is a video game development studio located just minutes from the beach in the city of Carlsbad in San Diego County, CA. We are a wholly owned division of THQ Inc., one of the top worldwide video game publishers. We are looking for talented, dedicated people to join us in making next-generation console games.
The primary focus of the Sr. Technical Artist is to facilitate the needs of the modeling, lighting and texturing pipeline. They need to leverage programming methods and techniques to find and implement solutions. The Sr. Technical Artist will work within the production requirements and day to day operations of the art department. They should be able to work well under pressure, with little direction, and on a deadline.
Preferred Skills:
5+ Years industry experience as Artist
1+ years in a purely technical capacity (little or no production art, just coding)
Completed at least one game cycle from start to finish
Expert level knowledge of Maya, and experience in at least one other 3D software package (preferably Motion Builder or Film Box)
Some knowledge of web based applications (Dreamweaver, Flash, GoLive)
Must be highly proficient in Mayas scripting language (MEL) or in the Maya C++ API
Well versed in graphics technology and trends, with some knowledge of graphics languages such as OpenGL or Direct3D
Preferable to have experience in relational databases, dynamic web pages, and server/client side scripting of dynamic web pages is a plus (ASP, PHP, CGI, JavaScript)
Knowledge of shading languages (HLSL or CgFX) also a plus
