Job details: Director, New Business Development Scope:
The Director of Business Development directs the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities for the Company to increase product portfolio, product sales and market share.
Specific Accountabilities:
Manages new business development activities including conducting strategic analysis of the market to identify trends, review and analysis of competition, and ongoing assessment of world wide 3rd party development community. Oversees financial analysis, due diligence and legal review of potential new business opportunities for the Company such as strategic partnerships, negotiates contracts and new IP opportunities that generate substantial revenue and/or market share for the Company.
Work to develop business relationships with 3rd party companies on a global basis, particularly with independent developers (sourcing).
Evaluate game products and opportunities.
Negotiate 3rd party contracts with licensors, developers and other parties.
Support, maintain and develop business development group processes.
Assist in the development of financial analysis, due diligence reports, etc.
Set-up legal framework and logistical framework for deal closure.
Strategy:
Tactical position that sets short term strategic and functional objectives and provides input into the long-term strategic objectives of the Company portfolio plan.
Negotiations/Interactions:
Interacts with all levels of senior management, peers and co-workers. Makes presentations to the Green Light Management team and builds and maintains important external contact throughout the entertainment industry.
Oversight Received:
Work is reviewed relative to attainment of goals and objectives established between VP of Business Development and SVP of Publishing.
Skills/Experience:
Must have strong knowledge of the interactive entertainment industry and a solid portfolio of relationships
A gamer, knowledgeable about products/genres/current game culture
Past business development experience (3+ years minimum)
Must have exceptional organization and action-planning skills
Must have demonstrated teamwork abilities
Past development experience a strong plus
Additional languages/international or intercultural experience a strong plus
Previous work at a Top-10 publisher a plus
Travel is required
