One of the most well-known video game publishers has retained us to help build global teams to produce their next-generation games. Each team requires a global art director to maintain a cohesive vision.
Responsibilities
Sets and maintains the visual direction for art and animation on the product and design character prototypes color schemes for art team, illustrators, modelers and animators.
Conducts critiques with clear and consistent direction to art team.
Designs, refines and manages the art production pipeline.
Works with producers to manage the art team's deliverables.
Balances creative and visual requirements with schedule, budget and staff limitations
Create style guides and art design documents.
Inspires, trains, and mentors art staff in both countries.
Qualifications/Requirements
Art related college education.
Four years of experience in the games industry. Or 8 years of work experience with computer art in related industry, coupled with a passion for video games.
Fluent knowledge of at least one major 3D package (3DS MAX, Maya or Softimage).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to lead people whose cultural background is vastly different.
Flexibility to accommodate work across 8-12 time zones between North America and Eastern Europe or Asia.
Ability to travel internationally as needed.
Location
Openings exist in China, India and Eastern Europe. Telecommuting is a possibility. Competitive benefits and salaries are offered.
