We're looking for an exceptionally talented Art Director with an intuitive understanding of the MMORPG genre and a bold vision for mankind\'s future. You will create, communicate, and maintain a cohesive artistic vision that revolutionizes this beloved franchise for the 21st Century. The ideal candidate will have shipped multiple AAA titles as an Art Director or Concept Lead, have at least 5 years game industry experience in combination with a strong illustration and concept background.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Art Director is the keeper and champion of the vision of the game. Establishing aesthetic and interactive standards for the game, stretching technical and artistic capabilities.
Partners with the Creative Director to define the artistic and stylistic goals for the game.
Works closely with the project Art Manager to ensure that the artistic goals for the projects are manageable within the overall project budget and schedule.
Works directly with recruiting team to build an exceptional art team.
Maintains and communicates a strong knowledge of innovative production technologies and the capabilities / limitations of these technologies as they relate to project goals.
Oversees art team results, effectively communicating art direction and delivering constructive feedback to work in progress.
Art directs outsourced art, ensuring visual consistency across all assets; and aids in the creation and maintenance of the systems used to communicate with external artists.
Oversee Production Design (concept) team, working with internal and contract production design staff to inspire development team and key stakeholders
Resolves timeline and artistic discrepancies promptly and professionally.
Supervises regular art reviews.
Effectively problem solves and consistently presents sound solutions to technical issues related to art creation and implementation into the game engine.
Partners with Art Manager to drive annual performance review process for artists on the team.
Mentors less-experienced artists on the team.
Communicate project vision to team, executive staff, Licensor, and 3rd parties.
Requirements: A BFA is strongly preferred.
Previous Lead Artist/Concept experience on at least 1 full-cycle shipped game title.
5 or more years experience in the gaming industry with a minimum of 2 games making it to market, related experience in film or TV is a plus.
Passion for games, MMOs in particular.
Portfolio required demonstrating strong traditional art skills and a strong command of the use of lighting, color, perspective, scale, and composition.
Strong technical aptitude related to 3D modeling tools and game engine technologies
Expertise working in Photoshop.
Proven leadership skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; ability to create a stimulating team environment that encourages the ideas of all artists on the project.
Must be a skilled decision maker, problem solver, and an exceptional communicator.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to share techniques and mentor less-experienced artists.
