GameSpot and CNET Networks Entertainment are seeking a highly motivated, extremely productive individual to join its team in the role of product manager, user videos. The product manager will be expected to own every aspect of CNET Networks Entertainment's 'user videos' online video uploading service, including: working with product teams to continue innovating the service and improving promotion of users' content; coordinating with community management to find new ways of recognizing top contributors; collaborating with the sales, marketing, and consumer services departments on business strategy; personally screening users' content and being able to speak to the quality and standards of the community's contributions; and proactively working with legal and other departments to enforce content and copyright policies while aggressively defending the authenticity of the service. The product manager may also be expected to build out a support team as the user videos service continues to gather momentum. The candidate's job performance will be measured in part based on the continued growth of key metrics that define the success of the user videos service.
Qualifications:
Two years professional experience in a fast-paced Web environment is required. The ideal candidate for this job is a highly accountable individual who is already deeply familiar with GameSpot's user videos service or other, similar services. This is someone with great written and oral communication skills, an acute attention to detail, technical aptitude/industry expertise for online publishing, and a Bachelor's degree. Knowledge of video encoding formats, streaming technology, and a general understanding of web publishing is required. Experience with software such as Microsoft Project, Power Point, and Bugzilla is also expected. Additionally, experience with the GameSpot Web site from an end user's perspective is required, and deep familiarity with other CNET Networks Entertainment Web sites is a plus. Please be able to provide samples of previous work.
