Perpetual Entertainment is looking for Level Designer
duration - Full Time
Job details: Level Designer This position is responsible for filling out our massively multiplayer worlds with immersive and compelling game content.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create incredibly compelling non-linear overland areas and linear instance zones.
Implement different areas of the game world using our in-house editor; could include laying out environments, as well as placing and scripting AI-driven entities, objects, triggers, etc.
Collaborate with Lead Designer and Level Design team to refine gameplay mechanics and implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional experience working in a game design role in an adventure, action/adventure, or massively multiplayer game. Good understanding of the hooks, structure, and basic mechanics of these games.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
An eye for detail and a strong sense of gameplay.
Working knowledge of Maya, 3DSMax, or other 3D modeling program.
Strong technical understanding is essential. Previous experience in editors such as Renderware Studio, UnrealEd, or QERadiant is an asset.
Serious, enthusiastic and long-term passion for games.
Candidate must instinctively know how to create a fun and entertaining game experience for players.
PLUSES
Art skills.
Knowledge of ancient and Roman history.
SAMPLE WORK PROVIDED
Examples of your game design skills. Mission outlines, or overhead game flow maps, sketches, or whatever you have that can demonstrate that you can design a level and mission.
