Blue Castle Games Inc. is looking for Character Modeler
Job details: BLUE CASTLE GAMES is seeking a highly talented and motivated 3D Character Modeler, to create high and low resolution polygon game characters for nex gen consoles games.
The Character Modeler will be creating models and textures for in-game characters as well as for sketching and providing detailed character designs when necessary. The successful candidate has a strong understanding of Maya, and significant knowledge of art fundamentals.
Requirements: RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creation and delivery of art assets.
Meet project deadlines/milestones as set by project leads.
Contribute to project planning and schedules.
Develop and escalate ongoing feedback and debugging for improvements of process and tools.
Quickly disseminate and communicate pipeline issues and solutions.
Mentor Character Artists in best practices/processes.
Display a sense of creativity and take ownership of work.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
3+ years of game development or related industry experience as a 3D Artist or character modeler required.
Good understanding of the production and development cycle.
Strong knowledge in 3D software packages (i.e. MAYA, XSI, ZBRUSH).
Intermediate knowledge of 2D photo manipulation and painting software (i.e. Photoshop).
Ability to digitally sculpt/model & texture both High & Low polygon characters to a HIGH level of quality.
Strong knowledge & understanding of human anatomy, with an eye for accurate proportions, form, and details.
Good communicator, understands and follows direction well, open to feedback and constructive evaluation from peers.
Team player with a positive attitude and influence on others.
Proven ability to work independently and problem solve.
Drive and high motivation to be the best.
DESIRABLE:
Degree/diploma/certificate or demonstrated skills in art discipline.
Genuine enthusiasm and interest in playing and creating video games.
Experience in cross-platform development.
Experience in mentoring/leading a definite plus.
A minimum of two shipped game titles also highly desirable.
