Job details: Associate Project Manager POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Project Manager (APM) assists in the coordination of localization projects for the Interactive Game division. The APM communicates on a daily basis with the clients, production department, technical team, and interactive game team regarding new orders, work in progress, and ensures that client requirements are adequately defined, uniformly understood and appropriately planned to achieve the successful execution of clients project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The APM is responsible for coordinating game localization tasks such as scheduling, organizing assets for translation, coordinating translation jobs, managing the QC process, working with localization tools, and delivering a quality on-time product to the client. Providing excellent customer service is the also important, so the APM must have well-developed communication and organizational skills. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Review client orders, and work with Project Manager, Interactive Games to determine and schedule project deliverables, production milestones, and required tasks.
Work with Project Manager to coordinate necessary tasks for interactive game production process from start to finish, identifying and addressing project changes, potential problems and issues, and fielding client requests and complaints.
Effectively communicate and coordinate activities for new and ongoing projects across different departments to ensure that delivery requirements and objectives are accomplished on the Project Managers schedule and budget.
Work with Project Manager to track assets and updates throughout the production cycle, to ensure the client is getting the highest quality work.
Assist Project Manager in setting up localization tools on a per project basis.
Assist Project Manager with coordinating any necessary game localization work with external partners.
Work with Interactive Games department to optimize best practices for creating localized games on all platforms.
Work with Interactive Game department to secure new clients and participate in sales meetings as needed.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Adhere to full-time schedule and overtime requirements.
Must work overtime and weekends when needed.
Perform other related duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Associate Project Manager should have a four-college degree, ideally in a field that offers an opportunity to gain a well-rounded background, and/or approximately 2-3 years game production experience. The APM needs highly-developed communication and organizational skills and experience with high-pressure, deadline-driven scenarios. A strong background in game localization is preferred, as is an extroverted, outgoing personality.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
A strong background and understanding of game production with regards to text, video, audio, and other content assets that will be localized.
Knowledge of Microsoft project or other scheduling software.
Knowledge of Bug Tracker or other bug tracking software.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience working with game development teams on organizing assets for translation, integrating localized assets, and managing the linguistic testing process.
Familiarity with console and PC game hardware.
Ability to resolve technical, production, and administrative issues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate needs and requirements between numerous parties, and relay information responsively back to Project Manager.
Ability to work within deadlines, ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery and client satisfaction.
Demonstrated competency in the execution of large, dynamic, complex tasks.
Familiarity with organizing and scheduling Voiceover sessions is a plus.
