Job details: Sony PlayStation: Quality Assurance Supervisor Responsibilities:
* Manage Test methodology and oversee FPQA Lead QA Testers and Quality Assurance Testers against software testing, server testing, and utility software.
* Supervises staff that performs single or multiple tasks associated to test practices, tests plans, test cases and test results that comply with all First Party QA guidelines, processes and testing methodology in order to release First Party Software.
* Assist in maintaining and applying a cohesive, productive, positive and safe work environment within FPQA.
* Participate in the sharing of ideas and exploration of new and
innovative practices to continually improve the quality assurance and testing of software for the Company.
* Maintain a professional attitude during all stages of development.
* Excel as a team leader and strive to maximize team and departmental performance.
* Develops and directs work schedules and monitors work flow to achieve established goals and objectives.
* Interacts with other supervisors, other functional areas, management and outside teams/vendors to complete objectives.
Skills:
* Excellent communication skills, ability to work efficiently in a team environment. Must have the ability to develop strong efficient groups of testers through on-the-job training, skill development and professionalism. Be able to mentor and manage new testing practices and technical information to various levels of skill sets during titles test cycle.
* Knowledge of network and software QA processes and methodology.
* Understands and applies test methodology and processes against
software, advanced troubleshooting, problem solving and sustaining QA objectives. Assist in coordinating and communicating the titles status through development as needed.
* Comprehensive understanding of Software Quality Assurance testing and best practices. Knowledge of networking topologies and functionality focusing on home network/internet access technologies, and wireless testing. Ability to create and execute dynamic test plans, test cases, and test strategies for software applications.
* Ability to generate (develop), implement and report advanced test strategies including resources, equipment needed, schedules and testing milestones for each title.
* Ability to manage and maintain the information of all test efforts against software and hardware testing.
* Ability to generate and facilitate monitoring reports, trends, metrics, etc.
* Two (2) years of QA experience or QA experience within the entertainment software industry.
* Good understanding and knowledge base of Quality Assurance methodology and Quality Control.
* Excellent understanding of game testing, server/client testing and TRC knowledge base.
* Able to lead and manage medium sized teams, manage tasks and
objectives to reach pinpointed release readiness of software.
