Job details: Environment Artist Job Description:
Utilize your experience in game development to focus on the realistic creation of art content specifically environments. You will make use of technical and creative resources to achieve consistency of art throughout project. You will work with other artists, software engineers and designers to achieve team and project goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for modeling & texturing 3D architectural environments specifically, environments (buildings, settings, terrain, etc). Construct environments using your understanding of mapping, scale, proportion & lighting. Also responsible for the modeling & texturing of additional objects & props within those environments. Use Maya software while maintaining polygon budget, platform restrictions and technology limitations.
Education / Work Experience:
Bachelor of Architecture or BFA degree in Art related field (Graphic Design, 3D Modeling)
Minimum 3-5 years art production experience - preferably creating art for video games
Experience using art 3D development tools (Maya, Photoshop, etc.) in a production environment
Experience with console (PS2, X-box, GameCube) and/or PC titles
Good communication skills with other artists, software engineers or others as required
Proactive problem solver investigating all facets of issue to seek resolution
Organized and detail oriented able to focus on quality AND deadlines simultaneously
Strong hand drawing skills
Additional Skills:
Lighting skills are a plus
Experience with real-time shaders is a plus
Experience with next-gen consoles and art pipeline techniques is a BIG PLUS
Several samples of your work demonstrating your modeling & texturing skills of vehicles should be included. It is strongly recommended that you include enough samples to demonstrate your range of creativity and skill. Please include specific information such as software used, polygon count, etc. If your work is part of a team effort, please designate your contribution.
If you have completed work on a shipped game, please proudly include those titles!
