Vicious Cycle Software is looking for 2D/Texture Artist
duration - Full Time
Job details: 2D/Texture Artist Under the direction of the Art Director, the 2D/texture artist works with the art team to help create all of the character and environment textures required for our current project(s). The artist may also be called on to do concept artwork, storyboarding, or interface design. 2D/Texture artists collaborate with game designers, level designers and other artists to ensure that project vision is maintained and that art assets are implemented as intended.
Requirements:
Expert knowledge of the latest version of Photoshop, Painter, or equivalent 2D software.
Exceptional ability to design and produce quality game art assets.
Solid understanding of art production processes and ability to quickly master proprietary tools.
Passionate interest in games and the future of the gaming industry.
Willing to accept and provide direction, work well under pressure, and handle multiple tasks.
Committed, independent, and responsible worker.
Strong time management skills and able to meet deadlines.
Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail.
Proactive in problem solving with other team members.
A positive and professional attitude.
UV unwrapping (characters and environments both hi and lo poly experience required).
An expert skill level in texturing (characters and environments - multiple styles).
Minimum of 3 years experience creating textures for video games.
Willing to push yourself artistically and learn new skills.
Pluses:
Bachelors Degree in Fine Art/Graphic Design or related field.
Game Industry experience.
Strong technical aptitude related to 3D tools and game engine technologies.
Experience with modern shader effects (e.g. specular maps and normal maps).
Graphic design (user interface, logo, or page layout design skills).
Storyboarding (cinematic design).
Concept art and design (environments and characters).
