Concrete Games is looking for Senior Level Designer
duration - Full Time
Job details: Senior Level Designer The Senior Level Designer will work with the Lead Designer and Art team creating fun and challenging experiences using our proprietary toolset and Maya.
Responsibilities:
Design, create, implement, and iterate fun and compelling gameplay. Satisfy the specifications established by the Lead Designer and Creative Director at a high quality level within the required timeframe.
Conceptualizing and planning 3D environments with a strong emphasis on gameplay mechanics for a third person action game in collaboration with the Lead Designer and Lead Environmental Artist.
Use proprietary level editor and Maya to implement playable levels, including building rough terrain and placing structures, gameplay objects and NPCs.
Take high-level design specifications and create detailed documentation for each level, including overhead maps and expected scenario walkthroughs. Create and maintain detailed, up-to-date specs, asset lists and other design documents as needed.
Placing, triggering and tuning entities (such as characters, movers and objects) to create fun, absorbing gameplay within assigned areas.
Assisting with the scripting of gameplay entities and events.
Keep up with competitive products and upcoming releases.
Qualifications:
A strong understanding of the open world genre of games (gamplay and environment design).
At least 2 complete product cycles as a professional level designer in the industry. Proven track record with AAA console products preferred.
High level of proficiency with 3D editors (UnrealED, Source, Oblivion Editor). Ability to quickly learn and adapt to proprietary editors and project pipelines.
Must have a strong working knowledge of Maya or similar 3D program.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Ability and willingness to accept and follow direction.
Collaborate productively with others and work hard to meet deadlines as necessary.
Positive, professional attitude. Disciplined and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
Ability to think creatively and analytically. An in-depth understanding of how gameplay works and how to create fun, meaningful experiences for the player.
Passion for games and ability to articulate that passion clearly. A broad knowledge base of console and PC games.
Sample Work Required:
