Collaborate with the Creative Director, design team, and other development team members to conceptualize, document, implement, balance and tune fun and compelling game play experiences throughout the game development cycl
Responsibilities:
Actively contribute ideas and content to the evolution of the game design in a collaborative team environment from pre-production through final testing.
Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation that clearly expresses the desired experience, details events and player activities, and identifies necessary assets or features.
Communicate, evolve, and proactively push the design, building excitement about the game throughout the team and organization.
Implement all aspects of game design through all phases: layout, block-in, scripting, balancing and turning .
Collaborate with environment artists to create worlds that aesthetically support and enhance the game design.
Rapidly prototype and iterate gameplay activities and refine them into fun, engaging, and rewarding experiences.
Proactively keeps leads and managers advised of progress on scheduled tasks, potential improvements to existing pipelines, as well as problems and/or inefficiencies encountered.
Promptly update and document bug and features database entries. Resolving priority bugs, and demostrate personal drive for quality through tuning and polishing.
Qualification/Education:
At least one shipped title and three years professional experience in a design role.
Familarity with game editing tollsets such as UnrealED, Hammer or QERadiant.
Experience with the following software packages: Maya (Alias), Visio (Microsoft) a plus.
Demonstrable expertise scripting AI and gameplay scenarios (comabt, world/character interactions, events, etc.).
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; has the ability to clearly and concisely define game areas, situations and feature sets.
Ability to think creatively and analytically.
Able to quickly adapt to change, finding creative solutions and maintaing positive momentum when faced with difficult challenges.
Is technically savvy, can quickly learn and master new software tools for developing and tuning gameplay.
Has a desire to learn, grow, and develop personla skills as part of a higly creative and professional design team.
Ability and willingness to accept and follow direction, collaborate productively with others, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Positive, professional attitude. Disciplined and self-motivated with a strong wor ethic.
Passionate abot games and able to articulate that passion clearly and analytically. A broad knowledge base of console and PC games.
University level degree or equivalent training.
Bonus Qualification:
Previous Scripting and/or Programming experience (LUA, C++, etc.)
