Datascope Recruitment is looking for Texture Artist
duration - Indefinite
Job details: Our client, located in Southern California, wants to make fun games that everyone will want to play. With that mission they understand making games is hard work and takes good talent. They encourage exploration of new ideas and promote working together to make the best possible games.
They are currently seeking a talented Texture artist to join their already successful team.
You need to excel with Photoshop and have some rudimentary 3D modeling skills, preferably using Maya. You will work very closely with background and foreground modelers to apply textures to a variety of models ranging from characters, enemies to environments and 2D images for our user interfaces.
You will need to find innovative ways to stretch limited texture memory, tile without looking repetitive, understand when to de-saturate for better vertex color shading and be flexible with artistic styles- yet confident enough to fill in details missing in concept art.
Experience with Maya?s hyper-shade editor is a plus.
