Job details: VISUAL EFFECTS ARTIST Planet Moon Studios, a leading developer of original videogames (MDK, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, Armed & Dangerous, Infected) since 1997, is seeking an experienced Visual Effects Artist to work on PSP and next-gen. Qualified candidates will have 2 years professional game development experience and have shipped a current-gen title. We offer competitive salary, benefits, and the opportunity to work with industry veterans on a very polished project. We are located in downtown San Francisco, California.
As an Effects Artist you will work closely with the Lead Artist, Level Designers and Programmers. You will be responsible for all creating spectacular visual effects, memory management of those effects, and any other technical and aesthetic considerations for the projects visual effect art style. In addition to strong visual effects creation skills and technical savvy, we expect the candidate to be highly motivated, possess excellent communication skills and to work well with multiple teams.
Requirements:
Experience with 3D Studio MAX
Experience in designing and building professional quality 3D real-time game visual effects
Precision and attention to detail in creating complex effects with an understanding of optimization
Strong technical stills with scripting based systems
Familiarity with current graphics production techniques
Qualifications:
2 years game development experience
Shipped title on current-generation console (PS2/ Xbox/ GC/ PSP)
PSP development experience a strong plus
Organized, team player
Proactive communicator
Solid understanding of game creation limitations/ dependencies
Passion for games
