Title:Lead Game Designer
Location: Austin, TX
Amaze Entertainment Austin seeks an experienced Lead Game Designer for a high profile Nintendo DS project. The ideal candidate has at least three-years experience as a Video Game Designer. Experience in handheld games is a plus.
Amaze is located in the heart of downtown Austin, within walking distance of restaurants, theaters, hike and bike trails, and music clubs.
Job Responsibilities:
Work closely with client designing game to ensure a shared vision and quality expectations.
Manage and direct small team of designers with the implementation of the game vision.
Act as liaison between publisher and producer, designers, artists, programmers, and other development staff to see design implementation through to completion.
Strong communication and management skills a must.
Strong skills in level design and balance.
Work closely with artists to achieve appropriate visual style.
Strong skills in Architectural design.
Work with other game designers to implement, balance, and tune game play.
Ability to collaborate with others on achieving a great game play experience.
Job Requirements:
3+ years experience and at least two shipped titles in a designer capacity.
Level editor and 3D modeling experience a plus.
Rapid prototyping skills a plus.
