Job details: 3D Character Animator 3D Character Animator
Human Head Studios has a position open for a junior level 3D Character Animator. Candidate must be proficient in use of at least one of the leading commercial animation software packages and can demonstrate a high level of quality 3D character animation. Ultimate consideration will be based on the level of talent prevalent in the submitted animation materials, which is subject to the artistic biases of Human Head Studios.
Essential requirements and responsibilities for the position include:
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the 12 principles of animation.
- Producing well executed and competently acted animation for characters of all kinds.
- Apply fundamental skeletal rigging and modify refined point weighting of character models.
- Acquire an understanding of the animation asset pipeline and the implementation of animations into the game engine.
- Apply and refine motion capture data when in prospect.
- Work closely with the Lead Animator and Project Lead to create the technical and aesthetic needs for the character style.
- Meet project deadlines and milestones as dictated by the schedule set by project leads.
- Self-motivated with ability toward self-direction and sensible time management under pressure with minimal risk of lost quality.
- Reliable and prudent team player with good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in Maya
- Experience work in the video game industry
- Strong knowledge of character rigging and scripting
- Willingness to work overtime when assumed pragmatic
- Demonstrated outstanding ability in animation.
