Red 5 Studios is currently seeking applicants for an exceptional HR Manager to become part of our team. The HR Manager position is the senior-most HR position in the firm. The position is a hybrid transitional role, combining significant and immediate internal recruiting responsibilities with the ongoing development and maintenance of innovative quality of life, retention, and performance management programs.
The HR Manager position is an individual contributor role with shared administrative support and significant lateral interaction throughout the organization, including with key management in Production, Programming, Art, and Finance/Administration both in US and in China.

Key responsibilities:
Internal Recruiting
Responsible for coordinating all recruitment activity for a global organization poised for rapid growth from 28 employees currently to 115 by calendar year 2008.
Manage multi-channel recruiting model, including retained search, contingent search, internal headhunting programs, recruiting advertisements and Web-site listings, and career fair and school programs.
Discuss and assess personnel needs with department managers to prepare and implement recruiting programs; consult on salary and hiring recommendations utilizing industry benchmarking data for salary referencing; and participate in negotiating and making offers of employment.
Draft job descriptions, identify and evaluate candidates to fill requirements; interview, arrange interviews with managers.
Develop and implement hiring strategies as well as recruiting processes that result in timely and cost effective hires.
Manage recruitment ad placement and track advertising utilization and costs to ensure that recruiting dollars are spent as efficiently as possible.
Project quarterly recruitment expenses for budgetary control.
Develop and maintain relationships with various educational programs and schools relevant to computer games development both in US and in China.
Attend job fairs nationally and internationally and other recruiting events.
Ensure proper new hire paperwork is transmitted to HR administration.
Coordinate and manage new employee relocation program.
HR Management
Develop and manage innovative quality of life programs, including employee education, personal services (concierge, family benefits), morale and team building activities, and employee events.
Develop and manage performance management and career development system, including assisting managers in processing all salary changes due to merit increases, promotions, salary plan adjustments, career opportunity moves and exceptional increases.
Conduct new employee orientation ensuring all necessary forms and documents are completed and returned. Process new employee information working closely with HR outsourcing vendor to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and benefits.
Consult on employee relation matters, job classifications and employee morale issues. Work with management and employees on a day to day basis to prevent and solve employee issues.
Key requirements:
The ideal candidate will be an energetic, enthusiastic, and supportive personality suitable for a creative, high energy and fun workplace environment. The successful candidate will possess well-developed interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, negotiation, problem-solving, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a proven ability to handle multiple priorities and effectively prioritize tasks/projects in a fast paced, quickly changing environment. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three to five years proven human resources generalist experience, at least two years of recruiting experience, and at least a bachelors degree in a relevant field. Qualified candidates will also have the ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality, and tactfully handle sensitive matters. Computer games or entertainment industry experience is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of current government regulations related to employment (i.e. ADA, ADEA, EOE, FLSA, FMLA, and other related federal or state regulations) is required. Solid PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and proven Internet experience is required. The exceptional candidate will possess all of the above qualities together with a strong personal motivation to create a model progressive, employee-centric company culture based on HR as a strategy.
