Job details: Sr. Lab Technician Responsibilities:
Performs and execute various technical checks and procedures to process PlayStation game code submissions for admission into the general QA testing cycle.
Performs game mastering and duplication process.
Performs various data/media technical and integrity checks on game code.
Evaluates file formats using a variety of software tools.
Interacts with multiple groups, including Developer Support, in discussion over various issues/topics ranging from development to production relative to Tech Lab functions.
Provides technical analysis and status reports related to software/media processing, testing, and releases.
Provides Database support and administration.
Investigates/ troubleshoots/ resolves various logistics associated with Tech Lab functions.
Skills:
Strong communication skills the ability to understand and work with various individuals/ groups with different skill sets and functions ranging from business to technical and facilitate communication between them.
The ability to become familiar with and execute common tasks utilizing defined processes, and also to help create and refine existing processes to meet changing/growing needs/goals.
Understanding of general file logic. Understanding of general mechanics of CD/DVD discs, drives, and common computer hardware compatibility/ conflict issues. Understanding usage concepts of command line utilities and scripting languages. High Level Software/Tools development familiarity. General PC, peripheral, storage and formatting familiarity. Relational Database development and SQL. Understanding of network related concepts and components.
The ability to effectively assess and efficiently carry out directives/ project objectives. The ability to provide useful insight and ideas relative to anticipated challenges.
An understanding of current and future developments within job related technical fields.
