SAE continues to enjoy healthy enrollment numbers
SAE Institute, the world-wide and leading educational center in the fields of Film, Animation and Audio Engineering has enjoyed strategic growth in terms of student enrollments, this year.
The number of enrollments registered in 2006 are proving a 100% growth when compared to last year's figures.
October 2006 saw a great number of intakes in an array of SAE courses. A course which proved extremely popular amongst students was the Electronic Music Production, which included the renowned DJ, David Newsum as a student.
The course has generated immense interest and students are still to this day, enquiring about enrollment- well after the commencement of the course. The Electronic Music Production course primarily concentrates on the many techniques used to produce Dance-related music. SAE full-time staffs as well as Guest lecturers have teamed up to deliver this exceptional program. Guests include DJ Afroboogie from the Peppermint Lounge.
In regards to Diploma courses, 3 streams of 1 year, full-time programs have commenced in October 2006. These are Audio Engineering, Film Making and Animation. Students enrolled have started these exciting courses by working towards their Basic Media Certificate. This section entails a 6 week introduction to the Creative Media Industry which covers: Film, Animation, Graphics, Web Design and Audio Editing.
Animation and Audio Engineering courses take the lead in terms of the most popular streams, proving different to last year's trend, where Audio Courses led in enrollments. Popularity has increased enormously in Animation courses and has virtually equaled the numbers of Audio students.
The 3D Animation Certificate is an 8-week short course which started on the 30th October 2006. As part of their final projects for this course, students will have to produce an animated logo, animated character and an architectural walk-through.
Now that the first lot of SAE Dubai students have finished the Diploma stage of the program, a number of them are choosing to follow through their studies with a Degree Program. This Degree phase commenced on the 12th of November and will primarily concentrate on a study of the Creative Media Industry.
Students will touch upon subject such as Marketing and Publicity, Business Law, Copyright Issues, and Legal Aspects of the Industry. They will be required to present a research topic, as well as complete an internship- offering them valuable experience within the Industry. They will also have access to the SAE Institute's state-of-the-art facilities to complete various practical projects and to further enhance their portfolio.
SAE Institute sets out to involve its students in ground-breaking projects which provides them with awesome opportunities and introduces them to outstanding contacts within the Industry. All Film students must participate in at least one external project as part of their course training.
Currently, SAE students are or will be involved in the filming of: the Official Clean Up Arabia Documentary; the Press Conference and DJ workshops as part of the Thirst Competition; Interviews with Groove Armada, 2ManyDJs and Soulwax as part of the Thirst Competition; the official documentary on this year's Media & Marketing Show; and semi-live coverage of the UAE Desert Challenge on the Internet.
