Job details: Art Director Responsibilities:
Inspire creativity and style that will continue to innovate how art can be used in a game
Provide visual direction during the pre-production, production, and post-production phases of game development
Supervision of other modelers, animators and concept artists
Present concepts and ideas for game development and marketing materials based on Design documents
Requirements:
Ability to provide constructive, specific feedback on concepts, styles, color choices, and processes
Strong skills in understanding animation, environmental creation, within technical limitations of game console platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate difficult and creative concepts in a clear and concise manner
Excellent 3D character modeling and texturing skills and/or 3D character animation skills, including rigging and weighting is a plus
A strong understanding of efficient techniques for game production, with a thorough grasp of the modeling specific requirements for rigging and animation
Strong 2D and 3D design and conceptual art skills, in both rough sketch and color studies
Traditional 2D animation experience a plus
Fluent knowledge of 3ds max or similar 3D package and at least one major 2D package (Photoshop, Painter, etc.)
Good overall understanding of 3D computer graphics (modeling, texturing, animation, lighting and rendering)
Demonstrated ability to supervise the work of a creative team
Prior work on AAA titles
Must have a passion for video games
