Job details: Producer Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) is looking for an external Producer in our Foster City, CA location. The Producer will be responsible for all aspects of game quality art, technology, design as well as coordinate external aspects of finished goods.
Responsibilities:
Create insightful and well polished products that leverage the latest development methodology and gaming trends.
Responsible for proposing project budgets and schedules based on anticipated project costs and sales potential, using break-even analysis and other tools, responsible for managing project and fiscal year budgeting and expenditures.
Specify and manage production process to maximize success of project and minimize risk of development, including management of transitions from pre-production to full production to completion and, where appropriate, post-deployment.
Originate and develop products that represent the highest possible quality consumer entertainment for the PlayStation Portable (PSP), PlayStation, PlayStation2, or future entertainment systems.
Manage contributions of all external contributors to product content, including motion capture, cinematics, online technologies, music, script, casting, voice over and sound effects.
Represent the project team both internally and externally to insure smooth progress of project and launch through all SCEA or licensee processes and departments, including finance, legal, marketing, Public Relations and operations on a worldwide basis.
Represent project teams in securing international distribution where appropriate and insuring high quality and appropriate localization of assets for international release versions.
Represent project team in the press and other public forums and events.
Skills:
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Producer.
Demonstrated success in managing people and relationships, conflict resolution, negotiation, communication, presentation, and assembly and motivation of talented teams.
Must be able to create and maintain project plans, budgets, and vision for project over multi-year project life-cycles, must be able to envision and articulate long term strategies for franchise development and platform transition.
Expertise in defining production processes for team and for contractors, talent, and other project contributors and rapidly evolving/determining new process to meet changing technology, organizational, or market conditions.
Must have good analytical and creative skills.
Knowledge of software tool capabilities and platform constraints, ability to integrate technology changes, ability to commission and integrate new technologies.
